Stampin' Royalty Challenge 7: Masculine Cards

First Card

Tuesday, 16 February 2010

Just thought id share with everyone the first card I ever sent to anyone! All pieces used were purchased from hobbycraft.

Dual Slider 18th Birthday Card

To create this card i folded a piece of A4 into 3 leaving a tab at 1 end, then wrapped a strip of plastic around the 1/3 of the card at the end without the tab and folded it so this 3rd of the card was in the centre. Then I attached the 2 pull out pieces to the plastic and sealed the card at the back using the tab.

Valentine's Card

To create this card I stamped a swirl onto a plain pink card for decoration and then layered a backing paper over it. Then I die cut the love embellishment and embossed the bird heart before layering it onto another backing paper.

Digital Challenge

To create this card i took the wheelbarrow pictures and backing paper from the Joanna Sheen's Cottage Garden CD Rom, and the vegetable frame from ClipArt. I then recoloured the backing paper in Microsoft Publisher and merged the frame with the picture. I then created a ribbon and added text to it before printing off all pieces. I then layered the picture frame and added Diamond Glaze to the vegetables so they would stand out then sprayed the entire frame with a clear varnish. To finish I added the sewn sunflower on top.

February Birthstone Challenge - Amethyst

Sunday, 7 February 2010

Most appropriate as this is my birth stone so this is a birthday card for me as well! I used the free craftstamper stamp designed by Art Journey, and script stamp from Crafter's Campanion 'Love'. I stamped onto patterned cardstock with Colourbox Challenge 'Eggplant' and layered top left image. I inked up the cuttlebug 'Dots and Spots' folder and run Bazzil cardstock through to give a more 3D look. The base card was a very dark purple silk board.

Valentines Box

I brought a plain heart box from hobbycraft and then covered it white with acrylic paint then stencilled over the top with an ink pad before adding a coat of clear varnish to protect the underneath. Finally i added an embossed bird and flowers as embellishments on the top.
